Malek Safa, M.D.
Malek
Safa, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the
Division of Hematology/Medical Oncology. He holds the
positions of director of the GI Medical Oncology Program,
and Assistant
Director of the Hematology Oncology Fellowship Program at
the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio.
He also is the Associate Director of the Barrett
Cancer Center Clinics.
Dr.
Safa earned his BS and MD degrees from the American
University of Beirut in Beirut, Lebanon.
He completed his internal medicine residency
program at Indiana University Medical Center in
Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dr. Safa fulfilled his Hematology and Medical
Oncology Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati,
Cincinnati, Ohio.
After completing his fellowship, Dr. Safa joined
the faculty at the University of Cincinnati and the VA
Medical Center.
Dr.
Safa treats cancer patients at all stages of their
disease.
His major interests include gastrointestinal cancer
(pancreas, hepatobiliary, liver, stomach, and colon),
clinical service and research.
His other interests are melanoma/sarcoma,
esophageal, and head and neck cancer.
